The Victory V-Grip plate was originally designed for use on artificial surfaces, but, following the acceptance by the British Horseracing Authority that it met the requirements of Schedule 4.7 of the Race Manual (Equipment / Shoes), it is expected to be used by some trainers in turf racing in the UK starting in the 2012 season.
Its main benefits over a standard racing plate are clearly the ability to provide increased grip across the entire surface of the shoe.
The V-Grip plate is available unclipped in U.S. sizes from 5 - 7.
